Important Notice: Visitation Policies in Chimes Delaware Residential Homes
Beginning Friday, December 4, 2020 an order took effect from Delaware Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDDS) to end in-home visitation for residential facilities for people with disabilities throughout the state. This action was taken to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19. This means that for the time-being, individuals living in a residential facility may not leave the residence for home visitation or family events. Once DDDS posts the official notice on their website, we will link it to this page for your reference.
While this presents challenges for the people Chimes serves and their families, we want to encourage you to continue with virtual visits and phone calls as well as letter writing. This interaction and correspondence is much appreciated by our residents. In addition, we would encourage you to assemble and drop off care packages with art projects, activities or other favorite items or diversions to your family members.
According to DDDS, they will reevaluate this order again on December 18, 2020 and we will be sure to pass along any new or relevant information at that time. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging time. If you have any questions about the order, feel free to contact Cory Nourie, Director of Community Services at DDDS by calling 302-744-9600.
Day Program Services are now open on a limited basis.
