Knights of Columbus donates $1,500 to Chimes Delaware
MILLSBORO, DE- Chimes Delaware, one of the largest providers in Delaware of community services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and co-occurring disabilities, is pleased to announce that they have received a $1,500 donation from the Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council 7297. Knights of Columbus representatives joined Chimes officials for a check presentation ceremony that took place on July 16.
The donation was the Knights of Columbus’ share of proceeds from the organization’s annual Tootsie Roll Drive. With this generous donation, Chimes Delaware will be able to make several repairs and updates to the Irv & Phyllis Levin Employment Center in Millsboro, which offers a variety of day support and employment assistance options to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Knight of Columbus, a national charity organization that has been giving since 1882, raises money for local charities that benefit people with intellectual disabilities. Last year, proceeds from the group’s annual Tootsie Roll Drive were donated to help Chimes build an outside bocce court at the Millsboro facility, which is used to help provide activity for Chimes’ clients.
Chimes Delaware’s Irv & Phyllis Levin Employment Center employment services include pre-vocational, supportive and CARES (Community Activities Recreation Exercise) day-habilitation services.
