for Upper Bay Counseling to Join the Chimes Family of Services

Baltimore, MD — Chimes Maryland and Upper Bay Counseling & Support Services are pleased to announce an agreement for Upper Bay Counseling to join the Chimes Family of Services. The organizations have begun a formal due diligence process, which is anticipated to conclude by January 2027.

This planned affiliation represents an important opportunity for Chimes to expand its behavioral health services in Maryland while building on Upper Bay Counseling’s strong history, expertise, and relationships within the communities it serves.

Upper Bay Counseling provides a broad range of behavioral health and community-based services in Eastern Maryland, including outpatient therapy and psychiatric services, psychiatric rehabilitation, residential rehabilitation, supported employment, school-based services, case management, and other supports designed to promote wellness and independence for individuals and families.

For more than 75 years, Chimes has provided services and support that help people live, work, and participate more fully in their communities. Today, Chimes provides a broad continuum of services to more than 26,000 individuals, including behavioral health and substance use services, residential and day programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, employment services, special education, and other community-based supports.

As a member of the Chimes Family of Services, Upper Bay Counseling will continue to build on its established programs, expertise, community relationships, and commitment to the individuals and families it serves, while gaining the support and resources of the broader Chimes organization. Together, Chimes and Upper Bay Counseling see opportunities to strengthen existing programs and expand access to behavioral health and community-based services across Maryland.

Throughout the due diligence and affiliation process, both organizations remain committed to maintaining the quality and continuity of Upper Bay Counseling’s services and supporting the people, families, employees, and communities that rely on them.
