Chimes Home & Community Based Services (HBCS) provides support to people with various disabilities to facilitate independent living. Federal guidelines allow states to develop HCBS services for Medicaid beneficiaries. This allows provider agencies, like Chimes, to provide long-term care services and supports to people in their home and community, as opposed to institutional settings.
Medicaid Waiver funds are used to provide several service options to choose from, namely in-home and community supports, companion, homemaker-chore, respite, community participation, supportive employment, supportive living, and behavior supports.
Nearly all states and DC offer services through HCBS waivers.
