Richmond, VA – Based Family Focus, LLC

BALTIMORE, MD – Chimes, one of the mid-Atlantic’s leading and largest providers of services and support for people with disabilities and mental health challenges, recently announced the acquisition of Family Focus, LLC.

With more than 30 employees, Family Focus serves nearly 1,500 people throughout Henrico County and the Richmond, VA metro area. Family Focus clients receive services through community-based programs such as case coordination, parent support, GPS monitoring, home-based services, mentoring, mental health skill building, supervised visitation, and virtual residential programs.

“The need for mental health services and supports continues to expand as does the need for trusted, forward-thinking providers of these services,” said Steve DaRe, President and CEO of Chimes. “Bringing Family Focus into the Chimes Family of Services will allow us to expand our geographic service area and add to the array of important resources we offer to people facing mental health challenges. We are honored to have Family Focus bring their 25-year legacy of excellence in this area to Chimes.”

Family Focus was founded in 2001 by Pat Harris. She now plans to retire after a 25-year career in the mental health services sector and is pleased the organization will continue its important work as part of Chimes.

“For decades, our team has proudly worked to meet the diverse and evolving mental health needs of our community in Richmond and beyond,” said Pat. “Joining forces with a large, stable, multi-state provider like Chimes ensures our team will continue to be a resource for people who need us for decades to come.”

Founded in 1947 and based in Baltimore, Chimes 3,500 employees serve more than 26,000 people throughout the region with disabilities and mental health challenges. Since 2000, Chimes has successfully provided a wide array of mental health services, including crisis services and counseling as well as substance use disorder treatment and prevention programs. Prior the acquisition of Family Focus, Chimes primarily offered these services in eastern Pennsylvania through its Chimes Holcomb Affiliate.

The Chimes organization currently operates a day program and several community living homes for people with disabilities in Fairfax County, VA.
