2025 Furlough FAQs
Why am I not working right now?
The government stopped paying Chimes for a short time. Because of this, Chimes must ask some employees to stop working for a little while. This is called a furlough.
Will I get my job back?
Yes. When the government starts paying again, Chimes wants you to come back to work. You will get your same job and same pay.
How will I know when to come back?
Chimes will call, email, or send a message in UltiPro when it is time to come back to work. Make sure Chimes has your phone number and email address.
Will my pay change when I come back?
No. You will get the same pay you had before.
Will I earn vacation time during the furlough?
No. You do not earn vacation or sick time while you are not working. You will start earning it again when you return.
When will I get my last paycheck before the furlough?
You will get your last paycheck for the hours you already worked on November 7, 2025.
What about my health insurance?
Your health insurance will stay the same through November 30, 2025. After that, you can choose to keep it by paying for it yourself (this is called COBRA). If COBRA is too expensive, you can look at other health plans on www.HealthCare.gov or call 1‑800‑318‑2596.
What about my retirement money (403(b))?
You cannot add new money to your retirement account during the furlough, but your money will stay safe in your account. You can call ADP at 1‑800‑695‑7526 if you want to ask about a loan or taking money out.
Can I use my vacation or sick time during the furlough?
Yes. You can choose to use your saved time off to keep getting paid for a while. Or you can save your time off for later. If you want to use it, tell your supervisor or HR.
Can I get unemployment money?
You might be able to get unemployment money from your state. Go to your state’s website and apply. You will need your Social Security Number, the name 'Chimes,' and the last day you worked.
Can I still see my pay stubs?
Yes. You can still sign in to UltiPro to see your pay stubs, W‑2s, and benefit papers.
